Airfield Lighting Systems – LED Stop Bar

Aviation lighting has become a very important aspect of the recent times. It is very important to install and maintain an efficient lighting system at airports, on aircrafts, airfields etc, in order to avert any sort of disaster. It also helps in a fast and efficient running of the entire airport.
Among aviation light, a very important area is ‘airfield ground lighting’. The design and development of an energy efficient and friendly lighting system and its subsequent installation helps in smooth functioning of an airport.
A very important step taken in this direction is the installation of the brand new ‘ZA28oled’ stop bar at many airports across the world. The use of ‘LED’ science in has helped in developing this wonderful technology that helps in providing a clear distinction between the active runway and the channeling taxiways.
It is very important for many airfields across the world to install this advanced model of a stop bar and keep it on the ‘active’ mode for most of the time. Owing to the increasing number of flights from major airports, it is very important to have an automated guiding system like this while at other times; aircrafts can function under the guidance received from ATC.
It differs from a ‘Tungsten Halogen’ bulb which can wear out owing to the overuse that it may be subjected to. This can be of significant difficulty during extreme fog conditions (CAT 3). The LED’s used in the new Stop Bar has a life of 24,000 hours. That means even when subjected to heavy overuse, it can still be operational for about 5 to 6 years.
Also, the functioning of the LED stop bar is more precise as compared to its other counterparts. The color saturation produced by the LED light is much more than any other lighting system and gives the most accurate signals.
